What is the RiskAI Tool and Why Should I Consider Using it?
Manual handling remains one of the leading causes of workplace injury across the textile services industry. Carrying out suitable workplace task risk assessments is one of the key responsibilities of employers, yet many organisations find these assessments time-consuming, subjective and difficult to apply consistently across different sites and tasks.
To help address this challenge, the TSA has partnered with Cardinus to provide members with access to the RiskAI Manual Handling Assessment Tool – an innovative solution that combines artificial intelligence with recognised ergonomic assessment methodologies to make high-quality manual handling risk assessments quicker, simpler and more consistent.
After a simple process of capturing a video of the task and some basic information, a comprehensive Risk Assessment report is generated.

Record and trim a video showing the relevant task.
Select the appropriate assessment and upload the video and supporting information.
Receive the completed assessment report and use it to review the task and agree any actions.

FAQs
Assessments cost £35 per video upload for members and £70 for non-members Charges will be invoiced monthly.
Yes. For members expecting to make regular use of RiskAI, the TSA has negotiated an annual licence fee of £3,100 for unlimited uploads.
Yes. You can send your video using WhatsApp Business or a file-transfer solution agreed with the TSA. WhatsApp protects messages, photos, videos and files using end-to-end encryption, meaning they can only be accessed by the sender and intended recipient while being sent.
Faces in uploaded videos are automatically blurred to protect privacy, and videos are deleted from TSA storage after upload.
An updated video of exactly the same task will be processed at no additional charge if it is uploaded within 14 days of the original submission.
Reports will normally be issued within seven working days of receiving the video and supporting information.
Yes. If you are unsure which method presents the lowest risk, you can upload videos of both methods for comparison. Each video will be treated as a separate upload.
RiskAI can produce:
- MAC assessments for lifting, lowering, carrying and team handling
- ART assessments for repetitive upper-limb tasks
- RAPP assessments for pushing and pulling activities
