Event & Training Terms

About these Terms

These terms and conditions (the Terms) apply when you book to attend a training course, workshop, conference, seminar or other event (including virtual events) held by The Textile Services Association. When you book to attend an event, you will be agreeing to comply with these Terms. Please read these Terms carefully before you complete a booking.

Please note that some events may be subject to additional or alternative terms and conditions. Where this is the case, this will be made clear on or before you book to attend the event. Please read those additional or alternative terms carefully.

Our events

Although we will use reasonable efforts to accurately describe the content of our events, such descriptions are intended only to give an approximate idea of the Event. We reserve the right to amend an event programme at any time before, or during, the event. We also reserve the right to cancel an event or any booking.

We do not have control over any links shared during an event, and we accept no liability for the content presented at an event.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any event or to remove a delegate from an event or block access to an online event platform without any liability for any reason and at our sole discretion.

It is your responsibility to comply with all instructions given at the event and to comply with all applicable laws, including health and safety laws, fire regulations and any codes of conduct for wi-fi access.

When attending an event, you agree to behave in a respectful, professional and appropriate way, and observe the rules, policies and procedures of the event venue, together with any reasonable instructions issued by us or the management of the venue.

Your booking

Submitting an event booking does not guarantee you a place at any of our events. We will issue an email confirmation of your booking request. Your place at the event is not guaranteed until you have received an email from us confirming your place is booked.

If we cannot accept your booking, we will let you know by email and refund any payment made.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide to us during the booking process is complete and accurate.

Payment of the attendance fee (where applicable)

The attendance fee for the event will be shown before, and at the time, of booking the event.

We will normally issue you with an invoice for the attendance fee prior to the event. Payment of the attendance fee must be made by bank transfer in accordance with the payment terms set out on the invoice. If you experience difficulties with making payment, please contact our events team.

Cancellation by you

This cancellation policy applies to all event bookings once you have received confirmation of receipt of your booking. Please note that when you submit a booking request for an event on a specified date and time, you are not entitled to a ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

If you find you are not able to attend the event after booking a place, please notify us in writing as soon as possible, via email.

  • If we receive your notification of cancellation up to one month prior to the event, we will refund the full amount of any attendance fee that you have paid. Alternatively, if you have not already paid the attendance fee, then no further payment will be due from you.
  • If we receive your notification of cancellation less than one month, but up to 7 days prior to the event, we will refund 50% of any attendance fee that you have paid. Alternatively, if you have not already paid the attendance fee, then 50% of the attendance fee will remain payable by you.
  • No refund will be available if we receive your notification of cancellation less than 7 days prior to the event, or if you do not notify us of cancellation but fail to attend the event. Alternatively, if you have not already paid the attendance fee, then the full attendance fee will remain payable by you.

If a colleague can attend in your place and you notify us in writing (via email) at least 14 days prior to the event, we will be pleased to accept the substitution at no extra charge. However, please note that whilst we will endeavour to provide your colleague with relevant event material in advance, we cannot guarantee being able to do so. If you notify us later than 14 days prior to the event, then we will try to facilitate the substitution at no extra charge but if not possible, then your colleague will be required to book their own place at the event, and the cancellation fees above will apply to your booking.

Under no circumstances will we reimburse you for any expenses incurred in making arrangements to attend the event.

Cancellation by us

We will use all reasonable efforts to hold our published events, but we reserve the right to cancel or change an event for any reason (including where the event is under-subscribed, it becomes difficult for us to deliver the intended content, or for other reasons resulting from events, circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control).

If the event is cancelled for reasons outside our reasonable control, no refund of attendance fees paid prior to the cancellation will be given. If the event is cancelled for reasons within our control, such as the event being under-subscribed, we will refund all attendance fees paid prior to the cancellation but will not be liable for any expenses incurred by you in making arrangements to attend the event.

Miscellaneous

These Terms are enforceable by us, and by any person who successfully books a place at an event. No-one else shall be entitled to force any of these Terms.

If you have any questions above the Terms, a booking or an event, then please contact us at events@tsa-uk.org in the first instance, and we shall endeavour to respond to you as soon as we are able.
